Our writing program is designed for students in grades 9-12 who want to improve their writing and critical thinking skills. Our instructors guide teens through the demands of higher-level writing, using a unique approach to inspire better writing, stronger results and greater enjoyment. This program lets students learn how to utilize the writing process effectively, apply composition techniques, and approach different types of composition and essay assignments, including descriptive, narrative, expository, and persuasive writing. After complete this program, students shall be able to write coherent and focused essays that convey a well-defined perspective and tightly reasoned argument. Our high school reading program focuses on advanced reading strategies and provides ongoing motivation. Our reading instructors help students build their skills and confidence. Students will learn how to develop the ability to comprehend difficult texts, use strategies to decode unfamiliar words, understand and interpret the meaning of new words, anticipate how information in a text will need to be utilized, and analyze literature. Upon completion of this program, students shall be able to apply knowledge of word origins to determine the meaning of new words encountered in reading materials and use those words accurately, read and respond to historically or culturally significant works of literature that reflect and enhance their studies of history and social science, analyze the organizational patterns, arguments, and positions advanced.In addition, by finishing this program, students shall be able to read two million words annually on their own, including a wide variety of classic and contemporary literature, magazines, newspapers, and online information.
